neighborhood

John 1:14 says of Jesus, “The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, generous inside and out, true from start to finish.”

Wellspring is committed to being a tangible source of God’s healing love in our community. That's why our church building is two blocks away from Edison Elementary School. Along with our church building, we also own two houses within our neighborhood. Throughout the gospels, Jesus and his disciples entered into the real needs, pains, triumphs, and stories of the people they interacted with. This is our desire – to know our neighbors.  Our neighborhood ministry focuses on two main areas: Edison Elementary School and Food for Kids.

edison elementary school

Wellspring, only a few blocks from Edison Elementary School, partners with the school staff and leadership to educate and support children and their families. Through mentoring, coaching, classroom help, providing various resources, and walking with kids to school, Wellspring stands in support of Edison. We believe education and positive relationships with adults are important for children to grow and thrive. If you'd like to volunteer at Edison, contact Kristin Miller at,

food for kids

Food for Kids is a ministry started by Sheila and Kenzie Gilbert to provide lunches for the children in our neighborhood over the summer months. While meeting the physical needs of our

neighborhood is important to the ministry of Food For Kids, even more so is investing in and loving on the children. Wellspring partners with this ministry by providing food supplies, financial support and showing up to connect with

the children.
