Money is important in the world we live in - often inappropriately so. At Wellspring, we are learning about what it means to worship and live for God. We believe that is a holistic pursuit. Because we are human beings who have an economic life, worshiping God includes a progressive and joyful surrender of our financial life to God and His purposes in the world.

The Bible teaches more about the issue of money than it does about many other topics. Having a healthy understanding of and relationship to money is critical to live life fully in the way of Jesus. For followers of Jesus, giving away ten percent of our resources can serve as a healthy measurement of our financial life. While this number is not set in stone, and some may choose to give more, we believe the giving away of ten percent of what we have control over is a starting point for followers of Jesus, as taught in the Bible and practiced by Christians throughout history.

Scripture clearly teaches that everything is the Lord’s, and we are merely His stewards (Deut. 10:14; 1 Chron. 29:11; Ps. 50:12; Col. 1:16-17). Jesus himself declared, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Here at Wellspring, attendees have opportunities to worship God through giving on Sunday mornings in the Offerings Box located in the back of the sanctuary.
