.::We support the following schools, ministries, and organizations::.

  • Young Life is a local group with larger ties. It is an organization where young adults spend time and effort seeking out the youth of the community and provide them with mentoring, support, and inspiration to become successful adults. Young Life is just the beginning of a lifelong journey with Christ. Young Life provides youth with many opportunities that they may not otherwise experience through other social opportunities. The vision of Young Life is "Every adolescent will have the opportunity to meet Jesus Christ and follow Him."

  • Food for Kids is a ministry rooted in the local neighborhood surrounding Wellspring and nearby school, Edison Elementary. A local couple, the Gilbert's, identified the only nutrition that many kids get, comes from school meals. During summer months they saw many hungry kids. In response, they started serving lunches during the summer to fight the problem. The program now receives support from several churches, and now includes holiday meal drives. Here is a video highlighting this ministry.

  • When creating Wellspring, we had a strong desire to add value to the neighborhood surrounding our church and be an irresitible influence while investing in the next generation. God has opened doors to serve Edison Elementary, located two blocks north. Wellspringers have served as mentors to students, held Easter events, and supported many activities such as carnivals, fairs, teacher appreciation, sports coaching, building decor, and concerts held at Wellspring.

  • The Global Orphan Project, Inc. (GO Project) is a global Orphan Care and Orphan Prevention ministry headquartered in Kansas City, MO. They work with local churches, both internationally and domestically, to help provide family based care for orphaned and abandoned children in their communities. They also offer trips around the world to love and care for vulnerable children. Wellspring specifically partners with their work in Haiti. The GO Exchange (GOEX) is also a ministry of the GOProject and they are a global boutique dedicated to Orphan Prevention. The products are made primarily by single mothers and you're involvement helps create jobs to keep families together.

  • The Advent Season has been an important part of Wellspring's involvement in the local and global community. Advent Conspiracy is a movement by churches to more fully focus on Jesus and to bring us into more intimate relationships with others. The goal is to focus on the "presence of people rather than the presents", by refocusing our attention.

  • Living Water International has been a focus of the larger Advent Conspiracy movement for several years. Living Water exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience "living water"—the gospel of Jesus Christ—which alone satisfies the deepest thirst.

Children and families from Wellspring partner with Living Water by organizing the annual "Walk 4 Water" event in St. Joseph every year. The walk helps create awareness about the lack of clean water around the world and raises money to help build wells to provide clean water to communities in need around the globe.

  • Rescued Readers is another ministry rooted in the St. Joseph community. Created in the past several years by local educators, efforts have been made to increase literacy on a global level. The organization works to connect classrooms across continents, focusing their work specifically in Africa. The written word is a powerful tool that bridges cultural differences and brings people closer in relationship with each other.

  • Samaritan's Purse is a Christian organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Our primary work with Samaritan's Purse is through their ministry known as Operation Christmas ChildThe world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child, uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 124 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories.

  • Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs compassionate people with those who are suffering from poverty. The ministry releases children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. The goal is for each child to become a responsible and fulfilled adult.
